5 Orange County Yoga Studios That Offer Classes With Reiki

Dani teaches yoga to a small group in Laguna Beach

The rising popularity of reiki mirrors the yoga trend of the past two decades. Once a more niche practice of the devoted, now it seems like everyone has done a yoga teacher training.

Like yoga, reiki clears the energy in the chakras, but without requiring physical movement. Instead, reiki is transmitted through meditation or light touch. If you’ve ever wanted to do a yoga class that was only savasana, reiki is for you!

The two practices blend together well, so it’s no surprise that many yoga studios are beginning to offer reiki, either integrated into classes, as a monthly workshop, or a donation-based community event.

Below, find studios that offer reiki for groups that can be attended as a drop-in. Schedules are changing all the time, so be sure to follow the scheduling link to sign up!

Laguna Beach Yoga - Laguna Beach

Restorative yoga soothes the nervous system with slow, long hold poses with lots of props to allow the body to sink into rest. It’s a great companion for the healing energy of reiki. This new studio in downtown Laguna Beach pairs restorative yoga with reiki in two ways: with meditation, or with a sound bath. Both approaches promise a fantastic adult nap-time!

No experience is needed to take these classes.

At a studio known for heated power vinyasa, reiki is definitely a change of pace. But, this circle has built a dedicated following over the years. Newcomers are welcome. The session will begin with a quick overview about what reiki is, followed by a guided meditation and sound healing. During the session, those trained in reiki are invited to share with the group. Those who are not trained may simply receive. You’ll want to bring your yoga mat as sessions are done lying down, and yoga props are available to borrow.
