The Forbes prism is about free enterprise, entrepreneurship and smart investing. Most business stories, and dare I say many cultural events, you can put through that Forbes prism. Because it’s always, at the end, about money
It’s tough to “measure” journalism, but as a writer, I like this and wonder how my payment would change compared to the “per-article” I earn now (since I promote my stories quite a bit just because I find my own stories interesting).
An author is paid a certain amount … for each first-time unique visitor, but 10 times more for each return visit from that person during the same month.
When I first saw Forbes publishing a bunch of loosely related writers, I was a bit annoyed. How would I keep up with it all, or know who’s stuff was any good? But I think that is the point – a different writer will appeal to a different person – and Forbes is wisely allowing each writer to build her own audience and everyone wins.
